You Are Loved

Image
You are loved. Jesus places a HIGH value on you...no matter how bad or how good you have been, no matter what you look like, where you are from, what your family is like, what other people say about you etc. The Bible helps us to understand how much Jesus loves us. Here are a list of the scriptures I read during this devotional talk: 1. Psalm 103:8-13 2. Romans 6 verse 23 3. John 3 verse 16 4. Isaiah 53: 3-4, 6, 11-12 5. Philippians 2:5-11 6. Hebrews 12:2-3 For those who don't know, the Pharisees were religious leaders during the time of Jesus. They had departed from God's pure faith, trust and love, and were legalistic, hypocritical and unloving towards others. If you read the gospels, you will see that the Pharisees did not like Jesus (not all of them disliked him). Even so, Jesus LOVED the Pharisees. He did have to use tough love with them many times and especially when He gave them the seven woes (Matthew 23), but oh how He loved them! Nicodemus, whom I mentioned in this

The Amazing Benefits of the Whole Foods Plant Based Diet part II

Image
Hello everyone. :) Today I am sharing part II of the mini series I am doing on the Whole Foods Plant-Based diet. Today I will be sharing my own personal testimony of what it has been like for me growing up on, and still almost always adhering to (staying with) this diet as an adult. As a reminder:   I'm not a health professional, but I have been blessed to learn a lot about healthy eating and I am grateful to be able to share what I have learned. I respect and appreciate the medical establishment and what I will be sharing in this series is not a substitute for professional medical help.        I hope that my simple testimony will be inspiring to someone. :)  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As a very young child, my family were lacto-ovo (sometimes also called "ovo-lacto") vegetarians.  https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/lacto-ovo%20vegetarian  My parents had both been rai

The Amazing Benefits of the Whole Foods Plant Based Diet part 1

Image
Hello everyone. :) Today I am beginning a small series I have decided to do on the Whole Foods Plant Based Diet (which I follow ). I like the description that this website gives of this diet https://nutritionstudies.org/whole-food-plant-based-diet-guide/ . I am going to say up front: I'm not a health professional, but I have been blessed to learn a lot about healthy eating and I am grateful to be able to share what I have learned. I respect and appreciate the medical establishment and what I will be sharing in this series is not a substitute for professional medical help. Before I begin this, I just want to say: I am not here to overwhelm or condemn anyone. It is my sincere desire to be a blessing to others. My social network includes people from so, so many different walks of life. I know people who are poor and who come from disadvantaged backgrounds; I also know people who are rather well off and who do not come from disadvantaged backgrounds and I know people from all walks of

Do We Really Love Jesus?

Image
Do you really love Jesus? If so, how much? Do you love Him more than you love yourself or do you love yourself more than you love Him? The reason I ask is this; it is easy to say that we love Jesus when we are not really thinking about Who He is, but when we really understand Who He is and all He went through....sometimes we come to realize that we don't love Him as much as we thought we did. I know this stings. It stings me too.  If Jesus was growing up in poverty today, He would be a kind-hearted, obedient, unselfish boy who lived in a house that was possibly run-down, or maybe He would live in subsidized housing that many of us drive by many times. He would have lived in areas which are notorious for drugs, crime and more. He would not have fancy clothes. His family would probably not be driving a fancy car. We might be afraid to go into His neighborhood. We might also make condescending remarks about the community He lived in and try to avoid it like the plague. We might laugh
