Christmas Thoughts

Photo by Arvind shakya from Pexels Merry Christmas everyone! Today is a day when many people celebrate the birth of Christ. Jesus did SO much for us when He left heaven to come to earth and become a human being like us. Today I would like to share a devotional I wrote last year entitled "The Cycle of Christian Growth". I hope that someone will be blessed by this devotional. :) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Cycle of Christian Growth Philippians 2:5-11 are stunning verses. The verses reveal just how much  Christ humbled himself in order to save us. There is a pat tern in these verses, and as I see it, it is the following: great honor, humiliation, desperate humiliation, exaltation, greater/greatest exaltation. Jesus was "in the form of God..." He "thought it not

A Quick Tip for College Students...With Limited Web Access

Photo by energepic.com from Pexels  In the spring of 2018 I was a college student who was taking three strictly online classes and two traditional classes (I physically went to a college campus for these) that had mostly online homework. This doesn't sound unusual or exceptionally difficult until you realize that I did not have internet at home at that time. We hadn't found an affordable provider that could provide reliable internet coverage where we live. That semester was one hard semester as I could only use internet when I was away from home. Thankfully, the Lord sustained me and I successfully completed all of my classes. However, I can tell you that having that much online work to do and no internet at home is a huge challenge. The next semester we had internet at home, but the internet speed was very slow, so I did not use it for much. However, by

Giving Him All the Glory

Giving Him All the Glory We humans tend to take the glory for our achievements. I have found through personal experience that there is a deep satisfaction and a heartfelt freedom that I can only experience when I choose to give God all of the glory for every good thing in my life. Because of the miracle that Jesus has done within me, I am actually disgusted with the thought of praising myself. I have done enough of that and it has never turned out well for me. I love the following Scripture verses: "Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. Simple, Delightful Breakfast Cereal

Hello everyone. :) Today I want to share a very simple breakfast idea with you all. This breakfast idea probably did not originate with my family, but I think that I probably learned about it from my mother. Breakfast should be a great meal; I hope that what I am about to share will make someone's first meal of the day better. :) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 1: For the evening before. Step 1: Heat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Step 2: Take out a cookie sheet or glass pan (such as Pyrex; ). You do not need to oil the pan before putting oats on it. Spread out quick or rolled oats on it. The oats should be spread out evenly. Step 3: Put the pan in the oven. Watch it carefully. Stir or flip over the oats with a metal or wooden spoon or spatula every few minutes. The oats will burn quickly if you don't keep an eye on them. Step 4: When your oats become golden, take the
