Strength from Above

Hello everyone. :)

Today I will be sharing something that God has taught me personally in my walk with Him. I hope that all of you will be blessed by reading this.

In the Bible, God says;

“…Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD." Jeremiah 17:5 (KJV) https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Jeremiah-Chapter-17/

Putting supreme confidence and trust in other people- or in ourselves, is not safe. Even the people who love us with all of their hearts do not know everything and cannot help us with everything. We cannot save ourselves from everything. When we trust in other people and/or in ourselves at the level at which we should be trusting in God, our relationships with God will suffer.

So, what are some reasons why we cannot trust supremely in those who love us and/or in ourselves?

  1. Because, our hearts are naturally complicated and wicked.

Jeremiah 17:9-10 (KJV) https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Jeremiah-Chapter-17/

Psalm 19:12 (KJV) https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Psalms-19-12/

Isaiah 64:6 (KJV) https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Isaiah-64-6/

 2. Because human beings are created, finite beings who do not have the power and wisdom that God has.

 1 Timothy 6:14-17 (KJV) https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/1-Timothy-6-16/

Psalm 145 is a wonderful chapter which reveals the power, wisdom, love and mercy of God. It is somewhat long, but I am really encouraging each of you to read it when you have the time. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Psalms-Chapter-145/

3. Because a person’s walk with God cannot be transferred to anyone else.

Ezekiel 14:14-16 (KJV) https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Ezekiel-14-14/

Ezekiel 18:14-17 (KJV) https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Ezekiel-18-14/

Now, don’t be discouraged! God is fully able and willing to be the One who has our supreme trust and confidence. Jesus Himself revealed, at the worst time of His life, how to cling to God when there is no human support to be had.

When Jesus went to Gethsemane, He was heavily burdened and no human being was capable of relieving Him of the heavy burden that was on His heart: the burden of our sins. In this terrible state, with a heart that was heavier than any person's heart has ever been, and while sweating blood due to the extreme emotional trauma He was undergoing, Jesus cried out to the One who could help Him. God the Father heard Him and sent an angel from heaven to strengthen Him. Our wonderful Jesus made it through Gethsemane; He conquered sin with such humility, patience, fortitude, selflessness, and forgiveness as He died on the cross to pay the horrible penalty for the sins that all of us have committed.

I highly recommend that all of you read the stories of Gethsemane, of Jesus’ trial and consequent death on the Cross, and of His resurrection. My heart is deeply touched by all that Jesus went through and by all that Jesus is.

Here are the chapters where you can read these stories.

Matthew 26-28 https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Matthew-Chapter-26/

Mark 14-16 https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Mark-Chapter-14/

Luke 22-24 https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Luke-Chapter-22/

In my personal experience, there have been many times when I have had struggles in my life. I brought my struggles to God, and He sustained, blessed and helped me in ways that no human being could have. To this day, I bring my problems to God and, without fail, He helps me. He is a very REAL being. He has done and continues to do things in my life that I could not have done and cannot do without Him.

I do reach out to suitable mentors, family members and friends for counsel and encouragement, but God is my supreme Counselor and source of encouragement.

My relationship with God cannot be transferred to you, but I long for all of you to also experience the peaceful, confident, loving trust that I have in the Lord. “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” Psalm 34:8 (KJV) https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Psalms-34-8/

Please don't be afraid of our wonderful God. He has a character that is almost beyond belief; He is just, merciful and loving all at the same time. This scripture song from Psalm 130 says it all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=thVWVP_Z9fQ

Blessings. :)
